THE HAPPINESS OF LIFE WITH JESUS

All of us have experienced happiness in our life. We can find happiness in being with our friends and in loving and being loved. At times, we experience the joy of giving. Some may try to to find happiness in pleasure, new fashions and in doing what they like. Happiness is a human aspiration and a gift from God. It is an aspiration which is the heart of every man. But it cannot be achieved very easily. We experience that sometimes what we thought could give us happiness in the end brings frusttration and dissatisfaction. Happiness is a goal to be achieved. Real happiness has something to do with the heart. There is no joy without love.
STORY
There was a little fish called Chambo who was born in Lake Malawi close to Cape Maclear. He was so happy and free. He could swim day and night reaching down to the very bottom of the lake where everything is dark. He was happy in the company of many other little fish. One day Chambo chnaced to come close to the surface of the water and he started to ask himself about what was outside the water. He was amazed by the brightness of the sun and the freshness of the air. Day after day Chambo was coming close to the surface to look at the world outside the water. All that he saw was beautiful and attractive. Chambo started hating the lake that kept him prisioner and his companions that never cared to look outside the lake. "I am not free here. How can I enjoy the world while in the sea? I will be happy only when I will be able to start a new life outside the lake." For days on Chambo learned how to make a big jumps trying to come out of the lake. On the final day, he took an important decision. He swam like he never did before full speed towards the beach. Nothing could stop him from attaining the happiness he longed for. With one big leap he landed on the sand. Finally, he was free. He was out of the water.
Happy as he never been before, he was enjoying his new life, the sand, the trees and the birds. However, he began grasping for breath. Poor Chambo, he did not last. His breath became impossible and soon he laid dead on the beach.

Happiness is like a seed that God sowed in our lives and for which we are made responsible and it can befound in the midst of sufferings and failures.

Happiness is where you are and what you want to be. God gives each one a place in life. He shows us our place by making use of the events of life, our abilities and opportunities in such a way that in that place there only we can find joy and satisfaction.
